While on this strict diet, be sure to prop your head up high with an extra pillow so the acid doesn’t seep up while you sleep.

Smoking is also a huge trigger so that needs to be eliminated completely if you want the GERD Diet to be succesful. Those who wish to continue smoking should cut back to a bare minimum as well.
