Question: I rarely get heartburn. Oatmeal is the only food I eat that regularly gives me heartburn each time I eat it. When I realized this was the cause years ago, I ceased eating it. I even attempted to eat it without extras like sugar or cinnamon.
It’s true, even a small amount of ordinary oatmeal, would give me intense heartburn.
What is the reason for this? There isn’t any other food out there that would cause the heartburn whether it be meat, fruit, or grain.
This is what occasionally happens to me.
However I am starting to see that I get heartburn after partaking in oatmeal if my stomach has lots of acid.
Answer: The amount of acid in your stomach will increase with citrus fruits and beer. If oatmeal is being eaten when paired with acidic foods, you will certainly experience heartburn.
The measure of treatment in food to the body is: Alkaline-acid. The opposite of acid is alkaline.
Answer: Maintaining a balance is the correct way to do this. If you can find an equilibrium. You can enjoy oatmeal without suffering from heartburn. Food that is too acidic can lead to pain.
