Question: Acid reflux has really been a problem for me lately, and I am tired of taking prescription drugs.
I understand that there are inexpensive home remedies that may work better than over the counter drugs and prescription drugs.

A bout of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.) for me is completely debilitating in its severity. The pain I have experienced with heartburn has been severe to the point of affecting my breathing and sending me to the hospital.
G.E.R.D can be hereditary and/or it can be brought on by anxiety, stress, alcohol consumption, caffeine consumption and smoking. This is a temporary, curable condition. G.E.R.D. does not have to be permanent. No matter how long you have had it, it can still be cured.
Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease occurs when your stomach makes too much acid. Mouth damage, heartburn, esophageal damage and ulcers are common problems related to this. You may experience shortness of breath or difficult breathing, dizziness, chest and back pain on the left side, numbness and tingling of your limbs.
HERE ARE THE THINGS YOU SHOULD AVOID!!!!!
Usually, reducing stress will reduce your symptoms. If you are careful about your eating for a week, you will feel better. If not, see a doctor.
You should be careful of these foods: onions, fatty foods, nuts and berries and other roughage, greasy food, foods with lactose, chocolate and cocoa, tomatoes and tomato products. You should also avoid alcohol and caffeine, and smoking.
THINGS TO DO!!!!!
Black strap molasses and raw honey are natural foods that I highly recommend to combat Acid Reflux attacks. Apple works well for night-time reflux. The others work well generally. You should take approximately one teaspoonful of whichever you decide to use. Molasses is excellent because it is very nutritious; however, it is an acquired taste. Sticking to the sides of the esophagus, molasses contributes to both healing and protecting.
When these substances remain on the walls of the esophagus, they will help it to heal. This helps your sore throat if you experience that after having reflux symptoms overnight.
When refluxed acid combines with sugar it is neutralized and no longer a problem.
Add ginger and cinnamon to your diet. They can be very helpful with digestion because they reduce the amount of acid necessary to break food down. This helps you to experience less acid reflux.
Answer: It may seem unbelievable, and maybe it’s just me, but it was effective in my situation. I have the symptoms of acid reflux, but I have never gotten a diagnosis. It seemed like I was constantly eating Tums. I started a low-carb diet to shed some pounds. Once I reduced my carb intake, the acid reflux disappeared. I always know when I have had too many carbohydrates, so I don’t really adhere closely to a low carbohydrate diet now. As I have mentioned, this may be specific to me, but my G.E.R.D. is triggered by carbohydrates.
Answer: I usually take a small purple pill; however, my mother has looked into this and tells me I should just drink some water with baking soda. Two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar every day is helpful, according to my reading. Milk merely hides it. My esophagus is irritable. I must take my pills every day or I can’t eat or drink. I hope you have better luck.
