Stomach acid refers to the gastric fluids that are found in the stomach for digestion purposes. Stomach acid is essential for your digestive systems. At times, if you may experience pains in your stomach, it occasionally may be as a result of lack of stomach acid. Taking in too much liquid after food can also contribute to problems with the stomach acid. On the other hand, having too much stomach acid can also result to discomforts and complications. Having too much stomach acid is more common than having little. There are a couple of solutions to these stomach acid problems. You may have heard people saying that you should drink milk to alleviate the pain, but in fact, it is recommended that you do not take the milk because it is likely to cause more acid. - Try to eat much smaller meals during the day than taking in large meals regularly. Avoiding overeating because it causes the stomach juices to start flowing and causes a great stress on to the body.
- Try to avoid eating food that is high in fat. You can add to your diet salads, grill your food instead of frying it and so on.
- Avoid taking in too much alcohol. Some of the alcohol can lead to low stomach acid levels.
- Avoid lying down after meals, a light walk is advisable.
- After your supper, you may want to get a wedge pillow as you retire to bed. This will help you food go down than up.
If you practice the above, you should have you digestive juices in the right balance and you will be able to get rid of the complications you may have been having. Do what you can to control the imbalance of the stomach acid and you will feel better and no pain after meals.
